What Seamless Gutter Installation Really Costs in the Phoenix Valley

A typical single-story Valley home costs $1,200–$2,500 for seamless aluminum gutters installed. Here is what drives the number up or down and how to read a quote.

Seamless aluminum gutter installation in the Phoenix Valley costs about $8–$14 per linear foot, which puts a typical single-story home at roughly $1,200–$2,500 installed. The spread comes from the roof, not the metal: height, run length, corners, downspouts, and fascia condition drive most of the difference. This page lays out those ranges so a quote does not surprise you.

What a typical Valley job costs

These are market ranges rather than a rate card, and your written estimate is the number that counts.

  • Seamless aluminum, 5-inch, single-story: $8–$14 per foot, usually $1,200–$2,500 total.
  • Seamless aluminum, 6-inch: typically a few dollars more per foot.
  • Two-story home: often 25–50% more per foot, since the work is slower and riskier.
  • Copper: roughly $25–$45 per foot, covered in our material comparison.
  • Removing old gutters: usually a small added line item per run.

What moves the number

A few line items explain nearly every price gap between two quotes.

Run length and corners. A simple rectangle costs less per foot than a house with six corners and two valleys, since every corner is extra cutting, sealing, and labor.

Roof height. Two-story walls and steep rooflines need more equipment and time.

Downspouts. One downspout for every 30–40 feet of run is typical. Extra ones, and long extensions to carry water off the slab, add cost.

Fascia condition. Gutters hang from the fascia board. If the board is soft or split, it has to be repaired first, and that is the most common surprise on older Valley homes.

How to read a quote

A real quote lists the profile size, the material and gauge, the linear footage, the number of downspouts, and where each one discharges. If a quote just says “gutters, $1,800,” ask for the breakdown.

A written estimate should also say what happens to the old system, who pulls any required HOA approval, and what is excluded. Quotes that leave these out tend to produce add-ons later.

Where the price differs across the Valley

Newer tract homes in Queen Creek and Laveen are usually simple rooflines with sound fascia, so installation is straightforward. Foothill homes in Cave Creek, Carefree, and Fountain Hills often have steeper rooflines and more corners, and Paradise Valley estates can include longer runs and custom profiles.

Older homes in Sun City West, Youngtown, and El Mirage frequently need fascia work before the gutters go up.

Installation or replacement?

If the home has no gutters, this is a new gutter installation. If old gutters are failing, it is a gutter replacement, and the quote includes removal and disposal.

When a run just needs a seam resealed or a hanger replaced, the honest answer is a repair, and we’ll say so. A replacement quote for a problem a repair solves is not a good estimate.

What a good estimate leaves out

A good estimate does not add downspouts, a larger profile, or copper beyond what the roof needs. It also does not quote an installation over fascia that is going to fail, because gutters hung on rotten wood fall off.

If the estimate you receive pushes expensive options without explaining why the roof needs them, ask for the reasoning in writing.

Frequently asked

Common questions

How much does gutter installation cost in Phoenix?

Seamless aluminum gutters in the Phoenix Valley usually run $8–$14 per linear foot installed, which puts a typical single-story home at about $1,200–$2,500. Two-story homes, long runs, and extra downspouts push the total higher. The only reliable number is a written estimate based on your roofline.

What makes a gutter quote go up?

Roof height, total run length, the number of corners, extra downspouts, fascia repair, color, and removing old gutters all add cost. Two-story homes need taller ladders and more labor per foot. Soft or damaged fascia must be repaired before new gutters can hang from it.

Are 6-inch gutters worth the extra money in Arizona?

On large roofs, steep pitches, and valleys that funnel water, yes. A 6-inch gutter carries about half again as much water as a 5-inch, and monsoon rain comes hard. On a small, low-slope roof, 5-inch is usually enough. The estimate should say which size each run needs and why.

Do I need a permit to install gutters in Arizona?

Most Valley cities do not require a permit for a standard gutter installation, but HOAs often require approval of the color and profile. Check your HOA rules before ordering. We can tell you what typically applies in your city, and the estimate notes any approval you need to get.

How long does gutter installation take?

Most single-story homes take a few hours to a day once the gutters are rolled on site. Two-story homes and homes needing fascia repair take longer. We give an expected duration with the written estimate.
